Understanding Your Brain Beyond Symptoms

At McWellness, we use advanced neuroscience-based technology to gain deeper insight into how the brain and nervous systems are functioning.

QEEG Brain Mapping (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) is a non-invasive assessment that records and analyses brainwave activity in real time. Using advanced software, we are able to observe functional brain patterns associated with emotional regulation, focus, stress responses, nervous system dysregulation, cognitive performance, sleep and overall well-being.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, QEEG allows us to better understand the underlying patterns within the brain and nervous system in a personalised and objective way.

Understanding First

Why Understanding Comes First

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, McWellness begins by understanding the patterns within your brain and nervous system.

Identifying these underlying patterns allows for a more personalised, targeted and objective approach — so support is shaped around how your brain is actually functioning.

The Difference

Advanced 23-Channel Brain Mapping

At McWellness, brain mapping assessments are performed using an advanced 23-channel QEEG system with a specialised brain mapping cap designed to capture highly detailed brainwave activity across multiple regions of the brain simultaneously.

Unlike simplified EEG systems with fewer channels, a 23-channel assessment provides a far more comprehensive view of brain function, connectivity, and nervous system activity.

This allows for deeper analysis of how different brain regions communicate and regulate together, helping create a more personalised understanding of each individual's brain patterns.

Tomographic Brain Mapping

One of the most unique aspects of McWellness QEEG assessments is the integration of an advanced Tomographic Brain Mapping Module.

Traditional EEG mapping primarily measures activity at the surface level of the brain. The Tomographic Module goes significantly deeper by using advanced technology to analyse activity within deeper cortical brain regions and neural networks.

This creates highly detailed 3D functional brain maps, allowing for a more in-depth understanding of how the brain is functioning beyond surface-level measurements.

Understanding Your Brainwaves

The brain naturally produces different types of brainwaves, each playing an important role in how we think, feel, and function. A qEEG brain map allows us to see whether certain brainwaves are overactive or underactive in different brain regions.

  • Green – Activity is within the typical range.
  • Blue – Lower than expected activity, which may indicate underactivity.
  • Yellow, Orange & Red – Higher than expected activity, which may indicate overactivity.

Theta (4–7 Hz) is associated with creativity, imagination, memory, and relaxation. When Theta is elevated while awake, it may be linked to difficulties with attention, daydreaming, mental fog, impulsivity, or emotional regulation.

Alpha (8–12 Hz) is the brain’s calm and relaxed state. Low Alpha may be associated with anxiety or difficulty relaxing, while high Alpha can sometimes be linked to reduced alertness or feeling mentally disconnected.

Beta (13–20 Hz) is responsible for focus, concentration, problem-solving, and active thinking. Low Beta may contribute to poor concentration and low motivation, while elevated Beta can be associated with stress, racing thoughts, overthinking, and difficulty switching off.

Every brain is unique, and these patterns are always interpreted alongside your symptoms and personal history. Our goal is not simply to identify areas of overactivity or underactivity but to use this information to create a personalised neurofeedback programme that helps your brain function in a healthier and more balanced way.

Why Tomographic Mapping Is Unique in the UAE:

  • Advanced 3D functional brain imaging
  • High-resolution brain network analysis
  • Deeper insight into cortical brain activity
  • More comprehensive than standard EEG mapping
  • Supports highly personalised neurofeedback planning
  • Advanced neuroscience technology typically found in specialised clinics

QEEG May Help Explore Patterns Related To:

  • Anxiety & chronic stress
  • ADHD & attention difficulties
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Nervous system imbalance
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Cognitive performance
  • Brain fog & mental fatigue
  • Overthinking & overwhelm
How It Works

The McWellness Discovery Process

  1. Understand

We begin with a consultation to understand your goals, challenges and history.

  2. Map

An advanced 23-channel QEEG safely records and maps your brainwave activity.

  3. Interpret

Your QEEG and Tomographic results are analysed to identify functional patterns.

  4. Personalise

Findings are explained clearly and a personalised plan is shaped around your brain map.

  5. Regulate

Targeted Neurofeedback supports healthier regulation, with follow-up assessments to track progress.

QEEG Brain Mapping FAQs

What is a QEEG Brain Map?

QEEG Brain Mapping (Quantitative Electroencephalogram) is a non-invasive assessment that records and analyses your brainwave activity in real time, helping us understand functional patterns within your brain and nervous system.

Is the assessment safe?

Yes. It is completely non-invasive and painless. No electricity is sent into the brain — sensors simply record your brainwave activity while you relax comfortably.

How is a 23-channel system different?

Unlike simplified EEG systems with fewer channels, a 23-channel assessment provides a far more comprehensive view of brain function, connectivity and nervous system activity.

What is the Tomographic module?

The Tomographic Brain Mapping Module analyses activity within deeper cortical regions and neural networks, creating highly detailed 3D functional brain maps — going beyond surface-level measurements.

Do I need a QEEG before Neurofeedback?

Where appropriate, your brain map guides a more personalised and targeted Neurofeedback plan, and follow-up assessments help track progress over time.

Where does the assessment take place?

In the comfort, privacy and familiarity of your own home, across the UAE.
